[as reported in the May 1933 edition of the “in-house” LMS Magazine.]
I am pleased to know that the excellent work done by the Locomotivemen's Mutual Improvement Classes throughout the line can now be referred to and properly recorded in the page devoted to the Mutual Improvement Class Movement in the "L M S Magazine."
The interchange of ideas, and the publication of lecture outlines and details of class activities, is bound to promote efficiency and sound knowledge, and the allocation of this space in the Magazine for this purpose will be of mutual benefit, and is a development which I shall watch with keen personal Interest,
D. C. URIE.
IT is intended on this page in future issues to publish items of interest and diagrams appertaining to the construction, maintenance, and working of locomotives; it is believed that this will afford definite advantage to the Mutual Improvement Class members. Any questions, items or suggestions for publication on this page which members of classes think will be of interest to others, should be sent to the Mutual Improvement Class Inspector of his division
