EDITORIAL
This issue follows the normal pattern with a variety of articles, and includes the second part of Stanley Jenkins' article on the Portpatrick £ Wigtownshire Joint Line, two World War 2 features, one each from Nelson Twells and myself, the second part of the Lickey Incline, largely the work of David Hunt, and an article on Non-Passenger Carrying Coaching Stock by Peter Tatlow. Regular contributor Graham Warburton continues the story of LMS Signals and a new contributor, Peter Wilde, tells the story of schooldays at Upminster.
Following hard on the heels of No. 20, will be a special enlarged edition, timed to be launched at the Warley Model Railway Exhibition on lst December, and intended to commemorate the 85th anniversary of the formation of the London, Midland and Scottish Railway Company and the 60th anniversary of the creation of British Railways. It will not be numbered in the series. All the articles are by regular contributors but none of the regular series articles are included. Graham Warburton and I look forward to seeing readers and contributors during the two days of the show, where there will also be another LMS Locomotive Profile and Pictorial Supplement available.
Normal service will be resumed in the spring of 2008 with the publication of LMSJ No. 21, which will be the 23rd LMS Journal to be published since the title was launched in 2001.
